The Holy Spirit Teaches The Believer

John 14:15-18
15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever,
17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.
18I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

This discourse takes place at the last supper(John 13). It represents Jesus' attempt to prepare the disciples for what was coming. He begins by emphasizing belief(14:15-24).

Jesus had come as the fulfillment of God's promise to the people of Israel, as the Messiah and their Savior. His birth, life, death, and resurrection brought salvation to the whole human race.

While Jesus was here, the disciples and the people did not recognize him. John accounts in chapter 12:34" The people answered him, we have heard out of the law that Christ lives forever: and how do you say, The son of man must be lifted? Who is the son of man? The coming of the Holy Spirit as "another counselor", " Teacher", therefore is to reveal and help believers know the truth about the person of Jesus and the Godhead in total.

In verse 16, as well as all the truth about what Christ Jesus came to accomplish. No one can effectively live the Christian life without the teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ made us aware from the passage of Scripture reading that the Holy Spirit will live and be with us and teach us.

What area of your spiritual life do you need help with?
